The eleventh World Championships hosted in Christchurch will be a historic event, with both men and women competing simultaneously for the first time in the events history - over three venues - Burnside, Fendalton and Papanui. During the first week the men will play pairs and triples while the women compete for glory in the singles and fours. The second week, the disciplines are reversed.

There will be a new name on this year's Taylor Bowls Women's National Singles trophy with Auchinleck’s Claire Johnstone, Fiona Kerr from Lanarkshire, Fraserburgh's Irene Wilken and Jane Brooksby from Falkirk grabbing the four semi-final spots on offer for the Gala Finals weekend at Coatbridge 9th and 10th December.

The Championship was played to semi-final stage at Arbroath on 14th and 15th October.
